You put 4 IT guys in a room...and this is what you get...

WHAT'S IN A NAME?

When we initially decided to start our own IT company, we 4 IT professionals sat down to come up with what was sure to be a breathtaking piece of nomenclature that would redefine the IT industry as we know it. After much deliberation (and perhaps too much coffee) we struck gold.

We decided that we’d call our company … Wabash IT.

We were thrilled to have a name that encompassed the nature of our work while including the name of a beloved local landmark: the Wabash River.

There was a tiny problem, however. When Scott’s daughter, a graphic designer, was introduced to our brainchild, she noticed something that had managed to escape the attention of 4, smart, educated IT professionals…

When you turn the name into a URL, you get the name: Wabashit.com

That wouldn’t do…

IRONCLOUD

So…we went back to the drawing board and dug deep into what we were really trying to do. Instead of being general like before and calling ourselves an IT company in the Lafayette area, we found a more poetic way of describing ourselves.

Our main goal was to move our business, and our clientele, into the future of information technology: the cloud. The first part of our name came from a slang term for onsite hardware—iron. The second part comes from the destination—the secure platform we hoped to move our clients to: the cloud.

We needed a name for our company, and after much deliberation, we struck gold.
